Middle-class autoworkers cling to way of life amid benefit cuts
Just two weeks after his 18th birthday, Randy Horter started his first factory job, helping make clutches and air conditioning systems at an auto parts plant. Since then, the 49-year-old Chrysler line worker has cobbled together a career working at various manufacturing plants and made a nice, middle-class life with his wife, Candace, who works at the same Chrysler plant in Belvidere, Ill. The couple earns about $75,000 a year, unless one or the other is laid off. They own two used cars and their home. Between them, they raised five children, now grown, and were hoping to start preparing for retirement. .
Soundtrack Pro 2.0.1
Sound editors and video editors—the humans, not the software—often seem to live in different worlds. The latest version of Apple's Soundtrack Pro, version 2.0.1, part of Final Cut Studio 2.0.1, seeks to bridge some of those divisions, at least within the suite's workflows. Enhanced recording tools aid dialogue and Foley recording (which includes sound effects and incidental sound), and a new audio Conform facility promises to make reconciling video and audio edits easier. New pro audio features also cater to video production, making it easier to match audio recorded in different locations and to manage surround sound. The challenge for Soundtrack Pro 2 is balancing interface simplicity and the dual demands of video and audio production. Prosumer to pro to more pro Soundtrack Pro has gone through some major transformations, in both features and user expectations, in its four years of existence.

Green spaces? : Switching to hybrids could get a little more enticing
Driving a fuel-efficient vehicle could save a few dollars at the gas pump as well as the parking meter. The Off-Street Parking Improvement District No. 1 gave its approval Tuesday to an ordinance that would allow vehicles that can travel 40 or more miles per gallon of gasoline to park free in some areas of downtown Fayetteville. Sharon Crosson, parking manager for the city, said she wanted to get the district's blessing on the ordinance before going to the City Council. The city contracts with the district to lease three downtown parking lots: one behind the E. J. Ball Plaza, one catty-cornered to that lot and one at Spring Street and East Avenue. Some of the revenue collected by the district would be lost if it allowed free parking in those lots.
Hip-Hop Rumors: Angel Lola Luv’s Implants EXPOSED! Jim Jones Vs. Max ...
Its sort of expected, and a primary reason why the music business has collapsed. The sports world relies on a mix of business people, coaches, ex players and players to further an organized growing path in what it does. Its why it does well and we remain fans. I'm embarrassed at how musicians and artists in other genres of music make us appear to be greed infested, structure-less idiots when it comes down to the organization of black music and culture." To punctuate his point, Chuck D told AllHipHop.com, “It is quite clear that these folk could care less. The same thing that happened to Motown, is Def Jam's fate. In my opinion the fact that 10-15 individuals in the guise of hovering buzzards are given keys to the culture based on their alliances with these corporations, is a partial reasons for the troubled condition its in.
